Foot Amulets are amulets to protect the feet of those who work hard every day or play sports and would like rehabilitation. They are based on the divine virtue of the deity of feet. Please tie them to your shoelaces with your wishes.

Festivals

There are various festivals throughout the year that everyone is welcome to participate in.

Toyonaka Ebisu Festival

January 9th-11th

Toyonaka Ebisu Festival is a festival of business prosperity, which is particularly famous in the Kansai area. Many people pay a visit to a Shinto shrine in order to show their gratitude to deities for having brought good luck to them the prior year. They receive a bamboo branch with a bundle of good luck charms. Furthermore, during this festival, a special girl plays a role in bringing good luck to visitors and business. This girl is called Fukumusume (good fortune girl). Since 1997, a female foreign student studying in Japan has been elected as the Fukumusume (good fortune girl) at Hattori Tenjingu Shrine to facilitate cross-cultural communication.

Shoe Festival

May 2nd-3rd

The Shoe Festival hosts shoe manufacturers, dance events, food trucks, and other local restaurants on the grounds of the shrine. Shoe services are also available at the shrine office to purify your shoes with gratitude.
